Makeup (Caught) in Action

BOTTEGA VENETA: New York Fashion Week 2008

Re-creating looks straight from the runway doesn’t have to be so difficult. Start by breaking down shapes and colors.

Eyes:
For this look, white pencil or shadow was used to create a light effect at the inner corners of the eyes. White eye liner was used in the waterlines of the eyes for an opening effect. A lilac shadow was applied to the lids and winged out at the corners.  Starting with a lilac-toned cream shadow will help the color stay and add intensity.  Use a powder shadow on top to set the cream. This will give it a longer wear. This graphic liner shape is key for this look! Add black mascara to the lashes and corner lashes for the full effect of this runway look.

The rest:
The skin is set with a matte powder, and the lips are very nude pink. The brows look natural and can be groomed with a clear brow gel for controlling their shape.

Enjoy your finished look!

Application tip:

Begin this challenging liner shape using an angled liner brush and a lilac shadow. Create the shape you desire and trace this shape with your cream shadow. Remember you don’t have to be perfect. Use your makeup remover and a q-tip or sponge to clean up edges.
