New Trends for Spring

This year at fashion week 2008, many key artists opted for white eyeliner.  These shows included Vivienne Westwood, DKNY, and Bottega Veneta to name a few. Yes, it’s back!  White was used in the inner corners, waterline, and on the upper lash line for an opening affect.

Some artists chose neutral colors on the eyes with white accents in the inner corners and waterline to make the eyes appear larger. The brows were groomed with a brow shader and set with brow gel.

When using white, the eyes are the focus of the face.  Try pairing this look with flesh toned nudes on the lips and soft color on the cheeks.

Backstage at Bottega Veneta, key makeup artist Pat McGrath chose thick, winged violet graphic liner on the models. Some wore this look smoky, but all had white accents. This “ultra feminine” look was set atop even skin. The lips were a nude pink, and checks just barely flush. The brows were groomed, and the look is fresh and sophisticated.
